Used golf carts

If the price of a new golf cart gives you a case of sticker shock, consider a used cart.
Used golf carts can be purchased for as little as $2,000. Less than that? You're probably looking at a golf cart that will require a lot of work or one that won't be very dependable. New golf carts can start at around $4,000, so it's worth the effort to spend some time looking for a solid used cart. The market has proven it is much easier to find a reasonably priced electric golf cart than a gas-powered one. Refurbished golf carts should be your first choice, because they have been taken in by the manufacturer or dealer and inspected and cleaned. Refurbished golf carts often come with a 30 or 60 day warranty. Extras like different types of seats, custom paint jobs or safety equipment are often available with a refurbished cart.
You can also purchase your golf cart “as is.” If you do, take extra care in examining the cart on the inside as well as the outside. There may not be any problems on the exterior but “as is” carts may have some problems where you can't see them. Inspect any used cart for signs of wear or rusts, then take it for a test drive. Note how it goes up hills or with a full load of people or equipment.

The typical golf car is around 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide, and 8 feet long. If you are using the cart for golf only, that should be fine. But if you plan on using your cart as more of a utility vehicle, you may want something bigger or with a stronger engine. Other accessories are available to help customize your cart for your uses.
